Trentino-Alto Adige

Trentino-Alto Adige Wines

Trentino-Alto Adige is Italy's northernmost wine region, located at the Austrian border. The Trentino-Alto Adige wines reflect the region’s cultural complexity and heritage. While Germanic varieties such as Müller-Thurgau and Sylvaner reign supreme, the local Schiava grape follows up close. There are also increasing quantities of local Italian wines made with international varieties such as Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Bianco, Sauvignon Blanc and the red Bordeaux grapes.

Gewurztraminer

Gewürztraminer Wines

Gewürztraminer is a pink-skinned grape variety that produces some of the most aromatic wines in the world. It has an intense floral scent and sweet-spice flavours. Translated, Gewürztraminer means "spiced Traminer" which indicates that the grape might have origins in Tramin-Alto Adige. The best Gewürztraminer wines are found in Grand Cru vineyards in Alsace. Outside of France, we will find good quality Gewürztraminer wines in New Zealand, Oregon, Washington, Germany and northern Italy.
