2015 Bodegas y Vinedos Tritium Garnacha
Bottle (75 cl - Standard)
Bodegas y Viñedos Tritium is a Spanish vineyard located at the heart of Rioja Alta. The wines mirror great heritage and ancestral legacy since the vineyards are 95-111 years old. The winemakers from Bodegas y Viñedos Tritium give great importance to the environment and want to preserve the region's values while creating good quality wine from authentic Tempranillo vines and other great local grapes such as Graciano and Garnacha. As they say, the vineyard wants to recreate poetry in a glass.
Rioja Wines
Rioja is Spain's most famous wine region. Divided into three subregions - Rioja Alta, Rioja Alavesa and Rioja Oriental - each with their unique characteristics, Rioja produces predominantly red wines from Tempranillo and Garnacha. Barrel-aging is almost mandatory in Rioja, so look for these terms on labels: Crianza, Reserva or Gran Reserva. Crianza being the least expensive is consequently the most produced. As for white wines Malvasia was Rioja's favourite but now the emphasis shifted to Viura.
Grenache (Garnacha) Wines
Grenache (Garnacha) is a black-skinned French grape variety extensively cultivated in France, Spain, Australia and the United States. In France, Grenache is widely planted in Rhone Valley followed by Provence and Languedoc-Roussillon. We will most commonly find it alongside Syrah and Mourvedre to create the classic Southern Rhone GSM wines. Meanwhile in Spain, Garnacha is the second most planted red wine grape variety, surpassed only by Tempranillo.
