Château de Respide is one of the first Château wineries in Graves Appellation. It was first certified as an official winery in the 19th century by the commissioner of Bordeaux region. In 1952, Pierre Bonnet took over the property and nowadays his son runs the winery and together with the Château winemakers he creates best quality wines that reflect the fusion between tradition and modernity.
Bordeaux Wines
It's hard not to associate Bordeaux with fine wine. For centuries Bordeaux has built its fame and prestige as a wine region of excellence. Great chateaux lie on both banks of the river Gironde, as a result of what Bordeaux wines have achieved. The main grape varieties for Bordeaux classic reds are Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot complemented by Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc that produce great white wines.
Cabernet Sauvignon Wines
Indigenous to Bordeaux, Cabernet Sauvignon is the most famous black skinned grape variety in the world. In fact it is the product of a natural genetic crossing between Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc. Besides its fame in Bordeaux, Cabernet Sauvignon wines are highly regarded in the New World wine regions especially in California, Chile and South Australia. Undoubtedly the finest Cabernet Sauvignon wines are found in Bordeaux and California, a viewpoint supported by the 1976 Judgment of Paris.
