Chinese Wine

It was just a matter of time until China developed a thirst for high-quality wine. The Chinese love wine so they thought it would be a splendid idea to make their own Chinese wine. At the turn of the millenium China already possesed about a half a million hectares of vines, planted in its major wine regions: Shandong, Ningxia, Yunnan, Xinjiang and Hebei. Red wine is the dominant type of Chinese wine and the key grape varieties used to produce it are: Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenere, Merlot and Marselan.
