Dolcetto Wines

Dolcetto is a dark skinned grape variety from Monferatto in northwestern Italy. Even though the variety has great success in Australia and the US, Piedmont remains its spiritual home wine region. Dolcetto wines are fruit- forward with spicy aromas, high in alcohol and have a really rich red colour and alongside Barberra and Nebbiolo it makes the best blends in Piedmont. DOCG Dolcetto wines are found in Dogliani, Diano d'Alba and Ovada while Alba, Acqui and Asti have a DOC status.
