2017 Domaine Clos Romane Cairanne
Bottle (75 cl - Standard)
Domaine Clos Romane is a family owned winery located in Cairanne, the heart of Provence over the Aygues terraces. Mixing business with passion for wine for four generations, the winery created their first millésime in 2011. The vinification process in Domaine Clos Romane vineyards still respects the traditional ways: the harvest and grape selection is done manually, the ageing process lasts at least 12-18 months and the bottling process is done without fining or filtration.
Rhone Valley Wines
Rhône Valley is a famous wine region located on both sides of the river stretching from Vienne to Avignon. This is the birthplace of Syrah and where it reaches its apogeum. Rhône Valley red wines are also known as GSM wines, a blend made of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre. The best known vineyards that produce GSM wines are Gigondas, Lirac and of course Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Although it is mostly renowned for its red wines, Rhône Valley also comes forward with a fine selection of white wines.
Grenache (Garnacha) Wines
Grenache (Garnacha) is a black-skinned French grape variety extensively cultivated in France, Spain, Australia and the United States. In France, Grenache is widely planted in Rhone Valley followed by Provence and Languedoc-Roussillon. We will most commonly find it alongside Syrah and Mourvedre to create the classic Southern Rhone GSM wines. Meanwhile in Spain, Garnacha is the second most planted red wine grape variety, surpassed only by Tempranillo.
