2018 Grant Burge Wine Barossa Ink Shiraz
Bottle (75 cl - Standard)
Grant Burge Wine is an Australian winery located in the Barossa Valley wine region. The winery was founded in 1855 by John Burge when he emigrated to Australia from England. In Australia he discovered the love and passion for wines and passed on his legacy to the next generations. Grant Burge wines are very dense, fruit forward with hints of dark chocolate, coffee bean and spice and have really dark inky colours which is why they were given the name “Ink”.
Barossa Valley Wines
The Barossa Valley is an extremely important wine-producing region in Australia associated with powerful Australian Shiraz wines. The best Barossa Valley Shiraz wines have a reputation for being rich and extremely full-bodied with great aging potential. There are of course other varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Semillon, Riesling, Grenache and Mourvedre that produce great Australian wines. Viognier is also well represented, but mostly in small portions in blends with Shiraz.
Shiraz (Syrah) Wines
Syrah is a dark-skinned grape variety originating from Rhône Valley, France. In Australia the variety gained a distinct personality and is known as Shiraz. Syrah wines are famous around the world for their peppery earthy notes alongside hints of blackcurrant, licorice, tanned leather and smoky scents. The best authentic Syrah red wines are to be found in the northern part of the Rhône Valley followed by some excellent examples from California, Oregon in the US and Australia.
