The story behind Kirrihill winery from Clare Valley- Australia dates back to the 1990s when a team of passionate and ambitious winemakers decided to create good quality wines. Nowadays the winery is managed by Ben Gibson who together with his team created their first “vintage” in 2000. Since then, Kirrihill wines are very popular around the world especially for their complexity and aromas that reflect the terroir’s best features.

Clare Valley is one of the most picturesque wine regions of Australia. Riesling reigns upon this wine region and is recognised as one of the best Australian white wine in the world. Clare Valley also produces world-class Australian red wines including Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon but we would also find other top quality wines made from Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Semillon, Grenache, Mourvedre, Tempranillo and Malbec grape varieties. 

Shiraz (Syrah) Wines

Syrah is a dark-skinned grape variety originating from Rhône Valley, France. In Australia the variety gained a distinct personality and is known as Shiraz. Syrah wines are famous around the world for their peppery earthy notes alongside hints of blackcurrant, licorice, tanned leather and smoky scents. The best authentic Syrah red wines are to be found in the northern part of the Rhône Valley followed by some excellent examples from California, Oregon in the US and Australia.
