Western Australia is the largest administrative region in Australia that covers about 20% of the country’s fine wines. The most important wine regions in Western Australia are Margaret River, Swan Valley, Perth Hills, Peel, and Blackwood Valley. The best authentic Syrah red wines are to be found in the northern part of the Rhône Valley followed by some excellent examples from California, Oregon in the US and Australia.
