Llopart

Llopart is a prestigious family owned winery from Catalonia wine region in Spain. The winery gained its well deserved reputation in the 1950s because of its production of top quality cava sparkling wines. Llopart Cava is made in the Traditional Method using local grape varieties such as Xarel-lo, Macabeo, Garnacha, Monastrell or Montònec. The Llopart family inherited great history and values in winemaking because the generations before them had been cultivating these lands since 1385.

Catalonia

Catalonia Wines

Catalonia is a very important wine region in Spain. Compared to other wine regions in Spain, Catalonia is very different because there is a strong French influence. Thus, Spanish wines from Catalonia are highly regarded because of the Champagne-style sparkling wine Cava and its red table wines. While the red wines are mainly made from Tempranillo, Garnacha and Monastrell grapes, for cava the catalan winemakers use exclusively Macabeo, Parellada, Xarel-lo and Chardonnay varieties.

Grenache (Garnacha)

Grenache (Garnacha) Wines

Grenache (Garnacha) is a black-skinned French grape variety extensively cultivated in France, Spain, Australia and the United States. In France, Grenache is widely planted in Rhone Valley followed by Provence and Languedoc-Roussillon. We will most commonly find it alongside Syrah and Mourvedre to create the classic Southern Rhone GSM wines. Meanwhile in Spain, Garnacha is the second most planted red wine grape variety, surpassed only by Tempranillo.
