2017 Madame Veuve Point Volnay 1er Cru Santenots Pinot Noir
Bottle (75 cl - Standard)
The story began in 1903 when Jeane Marie Point became a widow- hence the name Madame Veuve Point (veuve means widow in French). Born in a family of winemakers from Vergisson- Jean Marie Point brought along her wine legacy to her new home: Burgundy. Later on, her only child, M. Benoit Point took over the winery and nowadays “Madame Veuve Point” continues to pleasantly surprise us with good quality Burgundy wines produced with local Burgundian varieties such as Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
Burgundy Wines
Burgundy wines are the expression of perfection. As far as French wine goes, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from Burgundy set the bar for every other wine made from these two grape varieties. From Chablis to Maconnais, the Burgundy wine region is extremely complex and consists of a diverse range of high-quality vineyards.
Pinot Noir Wines
Pinot Noir is a famous red wine grape variety from Burgundy and one of the key ingredients for the renowned Champagne. Besides France, its homeland, California, Oregon and New Zealand have some of the best Pinot Noir wines. The signature flavours of Pinot Noir are the red berries and cherry notes or even stewed black cherry notes followed by fresh forest floor. In warmer climates, the wines might catch hints of leather and violets.
