Yalumba

Yalumba is a prestigious winery from South Australia founded in the mid 1800s by Samuel Smith. Its name derives from an Aboriginal word which means "all the land around". Nowadays Yalumba is considered to be one of the best wineries in Australia for its good quality wines created with classic Australian grapes such as Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay but also grapes generally used in the northern hemisphere (Viognier, Sémillon and Sangiovese).

Chardonnay

Chardonnay Wines

Chardonnay is the most famous white wine grape variety in the world. The best Chardonnay wines are generally to be found in Burgundy (especially Chablis) and California but many good quality examples will be also found in Italy, Australia, New Zealand and parts of South America. If maturated in oak barrels the Chardonnay wine will reveal notes of vanilla, butter, smoke and hints of sweet spices. Meanwhile unoaked Chardonnay wines acquire mineral, citrusy and fruity flavours.
