Trincadeira or Tinta Amarela Wines

Trincadeira or Tinta Amarela is a purple-skinned grape variety from Portugal. It especially grows in Douro, Dão and Alentejo wine regions and it is a key grape in the production of Port wines and other Portuguese dry red wines. Trincadeira provides red wines a deep rich colour, fruit-forward flavours with complex notes of spices and black tea. Since the variety has rich tannins, the wines also have a very good aging potential.
