2019 Viu Manent Carmenere Gran Reserva
Bottle (75 cl - Standard)

The story of Viu Manent winery started in 1935 when the Catalan, Miguel Viu-Garcia arrived in the city of Santiago, Chile together with his two sons: Agustín si Miguel Viu-Manent. Settled in Colchagua Valley - one of the most important wine regions in Chile, Viu Manent produces great quality wines using grape varieties such as Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carménère, Syrah, Malbec and Chardonnay.
Colchagua Valley Wines
Colchagua Valley, in central Chile, is one of South America's most promising wine regions. Some of the best Chilean red wines in Colchagua are made mostly from Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenère and Syrah followed by Malbec and Merlot. Meanwhile Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc are to be found throughout the ocean side of Colchagua Valley and produce great quality white Chilean wine. Colchagua Valley is a fairly new wine-producing region and is enjoying a growing reputation as Chile's 'Napa Valley'.
Carménère Wines
Carménère is a dark-skinned grape variety from Bordeaux but it found stability in Chile. Being a late ripening grape, Carménère needs a lot of sunshine and warm summers to reach its full potential. Red wines made from Carménère are deeply coloured and have the attractive meaty plumpness of Merlot and the gently herbal, cedary notes of Cabernet Sauvignon. These similarities are no surprise since Merlot, Carménère and Cabernet Sauvignon have Cabernet Franc as their parent.
