Vranec

Vranec or Vranac is a black-skinned grape variety originating in Montenegro. The variety is popular for creating intense coloured red wines that reveal rich sour cherry, blackberry, and blackcurrant flavours with chocolate, mint and vanilla tones. Vranec is the most cultivated variety in Montenegro and it spreads near North Macedonia and in smaller parts of Croatia. It is known to be an ancient grape and is often mistaken with Primitivo because of their close similarities.
