Albana Wines

Albana is a green-skinned grape variety generally used in the production of Italian white wines from the Emilia Romagna wine region. This variety is versatile and the wine can be produced in a range of styles: sparkling, dry, medium-dry, sweet or passito. However Italian white wines made from Albana are light, nutty, creamy and if dry have a crisp acidity and perhaps a slight bitter-almond finish. This Emilia Romagna grape has several local synonyms such as: Forcella and Greco di Ancona.
