Canelones Wines

Canelones is a wine region in Uruguay that includes the vast majority of the Uruguayan vineyards. Uruguayan red wines from Canelones are mainly made with Tannat. In fact, Canelones cultivates Tannat more than any other place in the world. However, a number of different other international red grapes are planted here along with white wines varieties: Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Merlot, Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay.
