Castilla-La Mancha Wines

Castilla-La Mancha is a wine region located south and east of the Spanish capital, Madrid. Red grapes dominate the wine production in Castilla-La Mancha. The main grape varieties used are Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Garnacha, Alicante Bouschet (Garnacha Tintorera), Monastrell, Syrah and Bobal. Most of them are very suited for barrel maturation. As for white wine, Airen grape tops the list and remains the most planted variety in Castilla-La Mancha.
