2019 Claudio Quarta Tenute Emera Bianco di Negroamaro
Bottle (75 cl - Standard)
It all began in 2003 when Claudio Quarta bought a property near Pulsano, the home land of Primitivo grape variety- very close to Manduria- and started creating wine. Each of the three Claudio Quarta winery estates (Tenute Eméra, Cantina Sanpaolo and Cantina Moros) have the same objective: to produce great wines that reflect the soul of the Puglian terroirs using modern techniques while rediscovering the authenticity of the grape varieties: Primitivo, Negroamaro and Greco di Tufo among others.
Puglia Wines
Puglia is a wine region in the far south-eastern corner of the 'boot' of Italy. The Salento Peninsula occupies the southern half of the region and is of great significance to Puglia's identity because the 'true' Puglia wines are to be found here, in the south. While Sangiovese and Montepulciano dominate the northern part of the region, authentic red Puglian wines from the south are made with Negroamaro and Primitivo grapes. Also, Susumaniello is making a comeback so look for this varietal!
Negroamaro Wines
Negroamaro is a black-skinned grape variety from Puglia in Southern Italy. It is a very popular grape variety and is usually found in blends alongside Primitivo, Malvasia Nera, Sangiovese or Montepulciano. Negroamaro wines can be described as deep ruby red with medium-full tannins and blackberry flavors with hints of clove, cinnamon and allspice. The finest Negroamaro wines are believed to be found under Salice Salentino DOC title.
