Barbera Wines
Barbera is a dark-skinned variety originating from Italy. It is widely spread throughout Italian wine regions such as Piedmont, Emilia-Romagna, Puglia, Campania, Sicily and Sardinia. Barbera wines are naturally high in acidity which complements the rich cherry flavours followed by plummy tones and round tannins. The grape’s best performance is in Piedmont where the limestone soils provide Barbera with enriched structure. Barbera alongside Dolcetto and Nebbiolo makes the best blends in Piedmont.
