Champagne-Ardenne Sparkling Wines
Champagne is a wine region from France famous for its sparkling wine known also as champagne. The designation ‘Appellation d’origine contrôlée’ (AOC) Champagne is exclusively reserved for sparkling wines produced in this particular viticultural area, using methods strictly defined by law. Champagne is traditionally made from a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Munier grapes, and most of it is produced as a non-vintage sparkling wine, which tends to be less expensive than vintage Champagne.
Chardonnay Wines
Chardonnay is the most famous white wine grape variety in the world. The best Chardonnay wines are generally to be found in Burgundy (especially Chablis) and California but many good quality examples will be also found in Italy, Australia, New Zealand and parts of South America. If maturated in oak barrels the Chardonnay wine will reveal notes of vanilla, butter, smoke and hints of sweet spices. Meanwhile unoaked Chardonnay wines acquire mineral, citrusy and fruity flavours.
