Piemonte Wines
Piemonte, located in northwest Italy, is one of the most renowned wine regions in the world. The best Piemonte wines are to be found in Barolo, Barbaresco, and Barbera d'Asti and the main variety for these authentic Italian wines is Nebbiolo. Nebbiolo wines are best known for their "tar and roses'' bouquet. Because of their strong tannins, the wines have excellent cellaring potential. Piedmont wines are also proudly represented by great regarded white wine styles: Moscato d'Asti and Asti Spumante.
Cortese Wines
Cortese is a white wine grape variety from Italy. The grape is mostly popular for its crisp wines from the Gavi wine region in Piedmont. A true Cortese wine is fresh and crisp with lime, apple and honeydew melon notes followed by almonds and hints of grassy tones. It used to be Piedmont’s finest white wine variety and nowadays besides Gavi white wines it also produces the “Cortese Marengo” sparkling wine under Piedmont DOC.
