Rias Baixas is a very famous wine region in Spain. This region gained its global fame because of Albariño, a white grape variety. The DO is divided into five different sub-regions: Val do Salnés, Condado do Tea, O Rosal, Soutomaior and Ribera do Ulla. Albariño Wines

Albariño is a green-skinned grape variety originating from Galicia, Spain. It is best known for being the key grape variety in Ria Baixas, where it makes crisp and well-textured Spanish white wines. Also it is used for making the famous portuguese white wines from the Vinho Verde DOC where the variety is known as Alvarinho. Albariño has a high acidity and can be produced as a light white wine or in a richer style, with oak or on the lees, which adds to the texture and structure.
