Leasingham is a renowned winery located at the foothills of Lofty Ranges in Clare Valley wine region- Australia. The winery celebrates over 100 years of wine culture and history since its founders J.H. (Joseph) Knappstein, Dr. O. Wein-Smith, Magnus Badger and John Cristion established it in 1893. Clare Valley also produces world-class Australian red wines including Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon but we would also find other top quality wines made from Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Semillon, Grenache, Mourvedre, Tempranillo and Malbec grape varieties. 

Shiraz (Syrah) Wines

Syrah is a dark-skinned grape variety originating from Rhône Valley, France. In Australia the variety gained a distinct personality and is known as Shiraz. Syrah wines are famous around the world for their peppery earthy notes alongside hints of blackcurrant, licorice, tanned leather and smoky scents. The best authentic Syrah red wines are to be found in the northern part of the Rhône Valley followed by some excellent examples from California, Oregon in the US and Australia.
