Madame Veuve Point

The story began in 1903 when Jeane Marie Point became a widow- hence the name Madame Veuve Point (veuve means widow in French). Born in a family of winemakers from Vergisson- Jean Marie Point brought along her wine legacy to her new home: Burgundy. Later on, her only child, M. Benoit Point took over the winery and nowadays “Madame Veuve Point” continues to pleasantly surprise us with good quality Burgundy wines produced with local Burgundian varieties such as Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

Chardonnay Wines

Chardonnay is the most famous white wine grape variety in the world. The best Chardonnay wines are generally to be found in Burgundy (especially Chablis) and California but many good quality examples will be also found in Italy, Australia, New Zealand and parts of South America. If maturated in oak barrels the Chardonnay wine will reveal notes of vanilla, butter, smoke and hints of sweet spices. Meanwhile unoaked Chardonnay wines acquire mineral, citrusy and fruity flavours.
