Marques de la Concordia is a winery from the famous Rioja wine region in Spain built where once an old sugar factory used to be. The region allows Marques de la Concordia to cultivate a great range of variety but the most popular and loved variety is still Tempranillo. The oldest vines were planted in 1929 and wine maturation takes place in French oak barrels.
Castilla y Leon Wines
Castilla y Leon is the largest wine region in Spain. Spanish wines, both red and white, from Castilla y Leon date back from the 1st Century BC. Nowadays the region boasts several Denominación de Origens (DO) such as Ribera del Duero, Bierzo, Toro and Rueda. Red wines dominate this region and Tempranillo is undoubtedly the main grape variety followed by Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. Meanwhile Verdejo and Viura dominate Castilla y Leon white wines scene.
Shiraz (Syrah) Wines
Syrah is a dark-skinned grape variety originating from Rhône Valley, France. In Australia the variety gained a distinct personality and is known as Shiraz. Syrah wines are famous around the world for their peppery earthy notes alongside hints of blackcurrant, licorice, tanned leather and smoky scents. The best authentic Syrah red wines are to be found in the northern part of the Rhône Valley followed by some excellent examples from California, Oregon in the US and Australia.
