Raka Wines winery is located in Western Cape, South Africa. Its name was inspired from the owner’s fishing boat. Three decades ago, Piet Dreyer refocused his passion for fishing, and together with his family he founded Raka Wines winery. Raka wines are usually very expressive and savoury. The winery chooses a more traditional approach in the winemaking process and grape varieties such as Shiraz, Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier.
Walker Bay Wines
Walker Bay is a wine region in South Africa located on the south coast of the Western Cape. These South African wines from Walker Bay are all well renowned for the Burgundian-style Pinot Noir and Chardonnay along with the fresh, flinty Sauvignon Blanc. The Antarctic Benguela current from the nearby Atlantic Ocean ensures the slow ripening of the grape thus creating wines concentrated in flavours and acidity. Nowadays Walker Bay wines are attracting more international attention, both in consumers and investors.
