Swartland is a large wine region located in Western Cape. It is renowned for the production of rich fruit-driven South African wines both red and white. Key grape varieties are Shiraz, Pinotage and Chenin Blanc. Shiraz is usually blended with Grenache and Mourvedre to recreate a Southern Rhone red blend and it's safe to say these GSM wines are on spot. Pinotage Wines

Pinotage is a red wine grape variety from South Africa. It is the result of the crossing between Pinot Noir and Cinsault grape varieties. Good quality Pinotage wines reveal aromas of black and red fruits, spice, leather and chocolate. This variety is also often seen alongside Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz especially in the Stellenbosch wine region. Outside South Africa is grown in small quantities in New Zealand and parts of California.
