Tinpot Hut

Tinpot Hut is a widely known winery from Marlborough wine region in New Zealand. Its name comes from the historic 'Tinpot Hut', a national landmark frequented by local musterers. Owner and winemaker Fiona Turner creates very savoury and fruit- forward wines using grape varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Riesling. Jamie Oliver himself confessed that he loves Tinpot Hut wines and that he always has some in his private cellar.

Marlborough Wines

Marlborough is considered to be the cradle of New Zealand wines because it hosts almost half of the country’s vineyards within its borders. Marlborough focuses more on white wines, Sauvignon Blanc being without any doubt the heart and soul of this wine region. It is followed by Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Riesling. Marlborough has also become an important sparkling wine producer, using the Méthode Traditionnelle (Champenoise) and grape varieties such as Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

Sauvignon Blanc

Sauvignon Blanc Wines

Sauvignon Blanc is a white wine grape variety original from Bordeaux, France, where it makes a good pair with Sémillon in Sancerre. Sauvignon Blanc wines are generally associated with Pouilly-Fumé where the wine reveals a very specific flint aroma that derives from the region's particular limestone soils. A classic Sauvignon Blanc has grassy aromas with hints of nettles, blackcurrant leaf, green apples and gooseberries. Besides France, the grape makes excellent wine in New Zealand and the USA.
