Emilia-Romagna is a rich region in northern Italy, and one of the country's most prolific wine regions. Emilia Romagna wines are mostly renowned because of Lambrusco wines (Italian sparkling/frizzante red wines). Sangiovese

Sangiovese Wines

Sangiovese is a dark-skinned grape variety originating in Italy and it is the most planted variety in its country. A true Sangiovese wine is acidic and has firm tannins. It also reveals rich flavours of dark cherries and black stone fruit followed by hints of tomato leaf and dried herbs. In Tuscany Sangiovese is responsible for the creation of great quality wines such as Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano or Chianti.
