2020 Casa de Vilacetinho Vinho Verde
Bottle (75 cl - Standard)
Casa de Vilacetinho is a famous winery from Alpendurada, Portugal founded in 1790. It is one of the first Vinho Verde producers and the oldest in the region. Vilacetinho wines are vibrant, savoury , fruit forward and reflect the terroir’s great character. The winemakers use both white and red grape varieties such as Alvarinho, Arinto, Avesso, Azal, Azal Tinto (Amaral), Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Vinhão to create good quality wines.
Minho Wines
Minho is the northmost wine region in Portugal. Minho wines, especially those from Vinho Verde DOC, are known for their crisp acidity, light body and slightly fizzy texture. The key grape varieties used to make Minho wines include Alvarinho, Avesso, Loureiro, Pedernã (Arinto) and Trajadura. Chardonnay and Riesling are the most common international white varieties. Alvarelhao, Azal Tinto, Espadeiro and Caino Tinto dominate the Minho red wine scene along with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
Avesso Wines
Avesso is a white wine grape variety originating from Minho in Portugal. It is the key grape for the region’s crisp, white Vinho Verde wines. Avesso white wines present aromas of stone fruit – white peach and ripe nectarine and those from warmer wine regions show hints of tropical fruit notes like mango. Avesso white wines are usually low in acidity which is quite the opposite from the other Vinho Verde grapes.
