Skopje Wines
Skopje is the capital city of North Macedonia and the most renowned wine region of the country. Grape varieties grow here both outside and inside the city, even in the most historical districts. North Macedonia wines from Skopje are mostly made from varieties such as Vranec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Prokupec, Chardonnay, Smederevka, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscat Ottonel. If you're looking for something exotic to taste wines from Skopje must make your list. Check them out!
Carménère Wines
Carménère is a dark-skinned grape variety from Bordeaux but it found stability in Chile. Being a late ripening grape, Carménère needs a lot of sunshine and warm summers to reach its full potential. Red wines made from Carménère are deeply coloured and have the attractive meaty plumpness of Merlot and the gently herbal, cedary notes of Cabernet Sauvignon. These similarities are no surprise since Merlot, Carménère and Cabernet Sauvignon have Cabernet Franc as their parent.
