Post House is a renowned winery from Stellenbosch, South Africa. Nick Tracy Riana alongside his team of winemakers have been creating great quality wines since 1996 using grape varieties such as Chenin Blanc, Pinotage, Petit Verdot, Merlot, Shiraz, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon. Post House red wines are usually very dark coloured. They use traditional winemaking methods that include natural yeast fermentation, basket pressing and no fining or filtering.
Stellenbosch Wines
Stellenbosch is the most famous wine region in South Africa and is home to the country’s most famous wine estates. Stellenbosch is also notable for being the birthplace of Pinotage (a crossing of Pinot Noir and Cinsaut). South African wines from Stellenbosch are mostly known for their Cabernet Sauvignon which is often mixed with Merlot to recreate Bordeaux Blend wines. Merlot Wines
Merlot is an iconic red grape variety from Bordeaux, France. It is predominantly present in red wines from the iconic wine regions of Saint-Émilion and Pomerol, both from Bordeaux. Besides being a great calming companion for Cabernet Sauvignon in the renowned Bordeaux blends, Merlot stands besides other French wine varieties such as Tannat (in Cotes de Gascogne), Malbec (in Cahors) and sometimes Petit Verdot. In Tuscany, Merlot sometimes stands beside Sangiovese.
