The prestigious South African winery of Rupert Rothschild Vignerons is located at the foothills of Mount Simonsberg in Western Cape. Rupert Rothschild Vignerons was founded in 1997 by the late Dr Anton Rupert from South Africa and the late Baron Edmond de Rothschild from France. Nowadays this partnership is managed by the Rupert family and Baron Benjamin de Rothschild and produces three distinct wines: a Chardonnay varietal, a Bordeaux Blend and the best classic red blend in South Africa.

Stellenbosch Wines

Stellenbosch is the most famous wine region in South Africa and is home to the country’s most famous wine estates. Stellenbosch is also notable for being the birthplace of Pinotage (a crossing of Pinot Noir and Cinsaut). South African wines from Stellenbosch are mostly known for their Cabernet Sauvignon which is often mixed with Merlot to recreate Bordeaux Blend wines. Cabernet Sauvignon Wines

Indigenous to Bordeaux, Cabernet Sauvignon is the most famous black skinned grape variety in the world. In fact it is the product of a natural genetic crossing between Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc. Besides its fame in Bordeaux, Cabernet Sauvignon wines are highly regarded in the New World wine regions especially in California, Chile and South Australia. Undoubtedly the finest Cabernet Sauvignon wines are found in Bordeaux and California, a viewpoint supported by the 1976 Judgment of Paris.
