Viognier Wines
Viognier is a highly aromatic white wine variety cultivated in wine regions around France, USA, Australia, Italy, South Africa, Chile, Argentina and others. Viognier wines generally showcase herbal notes with chamomile, lavender, thyme and sometimes hints of pine. In aged or sweeter wine styles Viognier will redeem some rich honeyed flavours. Genetically speaking DNA shows that Viognier is somehow the grandparent of Syrah while other studies show links between this grape variety and Nebbiolo.
